Refund Process: Income Tax Refund status is to check whether one has received Income Tax Refund or not. However, one must ensure whether IT return is processed by the officer or not, Refund will not get processed without process of IT Return.

So one must ensure whether he/she has received Intimation us 143(1) of IT act over on email/sms from the department, thereafter only you need to check for IT Refund Status.

It is worth noting that the bank account must be pre-validated on the government’s new income tax e-filing portal and PAN must be linked with the bank account.

For faster processing of Refund, ensure that you have Bank account in Nationalised bank and yours Mobile no and Email Id are matched with the record of Income Tax Portal.

Ways to Check Income Tax Refund Status?

1. On the NSDL website:
Go to https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/oltas/refund-status-pan.html website you will directly reach on Refund status page, enter your PAN and Assessment year against which you want to know the status, then enter captcha you will get final Result.
2. On the New IT Portal:
Just log in to the new portal and then go in view filed returns, after selecting View Details of respective AY for which you want to see Refund Status. (Kindly note this function is not properly activated till date).

By following above points you can just check your IT Refund in matter of minutes.
